Day 10
Movie 10 Day 10 (Dec. 9th - 9/12/2012)
Movie title: A Beautiful Mind
Description
of movie: A paranoid mathematician searches for a key number that will unlock the universal patterns found in nature.
IMDB rating: 7.5
I expected this movie to be much like A Beautiful Mind. In a way that I could guess all have next moves, why he saw and did the things he did. I thought he was schizophrenic. I expected it to be true and revealed by the end of the movie. But after watching the whole thing through, I don't know what was up with him. More than paranoia though. I don't know whether I'm convinced or not the people he saw throughout the movie were real or not. Just another mystery.

Ill. Terribly ill. but I still wanted to watch a movie and make a submission. Now bed.

Movie 9 A Beautiful Mind
Day 9
Movie 9 Day 9 (Dec. 8th - 8/12/2012)
Movie title: A Beautiful Mind
Description of movie: After a brilliant but asocial mathematician accepts secret work in cryptography, his life takes a turn to the nightmarish.
IMDB rating: 8.1
Wow. Officially my favorite movie of all time, if not tied with The Green Mile. Fucking incredible. Awesome. Stupendous. Kept you hanging, kept you wanting more. You feel bad but feel great after seeing the progression he's made. It's just plain awesome. Highly recommended for you, your mother, your grandmother and your infant child. A must see movie that keeps you on your toes and thinking often.

Movie 8 Salò, Or The 120 Days Of Sodom
Day 8
Movie 8 Day 8 (Dec. 7th - 7/12/2012)
Movie title: Salò, Or The 120 Days Of Sodom
Description of movie: Four fascist libertines round up 9 teenagers, boys and girls and subject them to 120 days of physical, mental and sexual torture.
IMDB rating: 6.0
Let's get straight to the point. I always saw sodomy (along with most other fetish) just another way of pleasure between a willing male/female male/male female/female. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a different sexual experience. This movie though, took it much too far. It was disturbing to watch and what one point I felt like puking. I'm happy for the fact that (mild spoilers?) they ended up killing most if not all of the participants. No matter how cruel the torture was, I'm sure one of the ways they stood to it was the fact they knew death, their only freedom, was minutes away. Movie is still sick though.

Bah, humbug.

Movie 7 Athene's Theory Of Everything
Day 7
Movie 7 Day 7 (Dec. 6th - 6/12/2012)
Movie title: Athene's Theory Of Everything
Description of movie: Chiren Boumaaza, aka Athene, is an extravagant Internet celebrity, with over 240 million upload views, and a professional gamer. If you haven’t heard of him, he’s a record holder in World of Warcraft and online poker, and plays the main character in a series of videos on a popular YouTube channel with well over 340,000 subscribers. Athene is known for crashing gaming servers, with the aid of his massive army of followers, who just love to be part of the controversy and trouble Athene is so well known for.
Over the past year, we haven’t heard much from him, and it seemed as though he had fallen off the grid.
Recently Chiren broke his silence, and announced that his disappearance was due to being very busy, conducting new research in the fields of quantum mechanics, general and special relativity, and neuroscience. He continued to say that this research is culminating in significant new discoveries that will be presented in a documentary named Athene’s Theory of Everything. This was definitely an unexpected turn, and caused quite a stir, and some confusion within his fan base.
IMDB rating: N/A
I maybe was able to keep up with the first 10 minutes of the movie. But I am so dead damn tired I was half listening with my eyes closed fighting sleep through the other 40 minutes, but heard enough to understand what it was about. I think this would be a great movie for people who are closed minded or even near closed minded. I kinda felt like this movie was telling me pretty much everything I had already heard somewhere else. Ah well, Not a bad movie none the less, well edited.

Movie 6 A Virus Called Fear
Day 6
Movie 6 Day 6 (Dec. 5th - 5/12/2012)
Movie title: A Virus Called Fear
Description of movie: Fear is apparently a universal emotion; all persons, consciously or unconsciously, have fear in some sort. In short, fear is the ability to recognize danger leading to an urge to confront it or flee from it. Very few people understand the programming of fear, and why it distorts our perceptions. While fear is a program used for our survival, fear also creates irrational beliefs that cause larger systems of fear like politics, religion and the media. A Virus Called Fear is short film about the conditioning of fear, and what irrational fears can lead to.
IMDB rating: 7.1
Pretty okay documentary, nothing extraordinarily special about it as I hoped, all it really did for me was just wonder if half my actions were based on an anxiety type of fear, and look at my general fears deeper. I guess for me though, I don't fear too much, so it's harder to connect with this movie as someone might if they had a lot of fears or phobias. Good documentary for its length none the less.
-NegativePoints1
I was told quite a bit on Reddit to check out some documentaries if I wanted to watch really thought provoking things. Problem is, I've watched so many psychological documentaries it's hard to find one I haven't seen yet that I just might be interested in. So I'm going to try it out for a few days anyway, see where it takes me

Movie 5 Enter The Void
Day 5
Movie 5 Day 5 (Dec. 4th - 4/12/2012)
Movie title: Enter The Void
Description of movie: A drug dealer becomes interested in death and re-incarnation after reading "The Tibetan Book of the Dead". Suddenly dead, his soul floats through Tokyo observing the dramas of his friends and foes. An oath determines his next step 'as a soul'.
IMDB rating: 7.2
Let me start with this. Do NOT watch this movie if you're epileptic or your eyes are severely sensitive to flashing or very bright lights. This movie was about as a trippy as the drugs they were using in it. This movie was a psychedelic trip in its own. I can't say it made me feel any different, maybe in the beginning with how close he (the main character, Oscar) and his sister (Linda) were, but at one point it I started to expect some sort of incest going to happen so that changed quickly. The best way to put it, it was just a very trippy movie. Little dialogue, but somehow it keeps you 'trapped' watching it. You're interested without even knowing it because you catch yourself just staring blankly at the screen not moving but completely paying attention. At least that's what it did to me.
-NegativePoints1
I didn't expect this to be a 3 hour or close to 3 hour movie or I wouldn't have started watching it so late, but OP still has delivered and man. That movie was crazy.

Movie 4 Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
Day 4
Movie 4 Day 4 (Dec. 3rd - 3/12/2012)
Movie title: Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
Description of movie: A couple undergo a procedure to erase each other from their memories when their relationship turns sour, but it is only through the process of loss that they discover what they had to begin with.
IMDB rating:8.4
Well, to start off, the movie didn't emotionally impact me as much as I expected it to. Maybe that could be the reason though, I was really expecting it to hit me hard and because of that I only stopped to think for a couple of times of what that may be like to have happen. How would I react. But, it didn't really stick with me. What I did enjoy though is the poem that the movie title is based upon and mentioned in the movie itself, "Eloisa to Abelard" by Alexander Pope. Very nice poem. Guess I'll see what's in store for tomorrow concerning movies
